MEANING BEHIND OUR NAME
Santa Almagia unites two powerful concepts: “alma” (soul) and “magia” (magic). This fusion represents the essence of our mezcal–a spirit that captures both the soul of Mexican craftsmanship and the magic of ancestral tradition.

Two paths, one vision
As women of Mexican heritage, living in California and Mexico, Alana and Adriana, sought to bridge these two worlds. They planted themselves in Oaxaca, where centuries of tradition revealed a path to honoring their roots while shaping the future of mezcal.

A return to roots
What began as a cultural exploration transformed into a calling. In the hills of Oaxaca, we discovered more than exceptional mezcal–we found a way to showcase the elegance and artistry that defines Mexico’s true heritage.

Where tradition lives
Our mezcal is crafted in small batches by Maestro Mezcaleros Adiel Celis and Luis Arellanes, who have maintained their craft for generations. Their commitment to authenticity ensures each bottle reflects the true spirit of this sacred place.

Oaxaca, Mexico The Heart of Mezcal
Deep in Oaxaca, Mexico lies Santa Catarina Minas and San Pedro Totomachapam, communities that have preserved the art of mezcal making for over 400 years. Here, among the wild agave and ancient traditions, we found our purpose.
